Hilary is Managing Director of Verulam

Associates Bangladesh Ltd and Verulam
Consultant Private Ltd. Hilary is an
experienced educationalist and researcher with
substantial management and consultancy
expertise. she undertakes research and
consultancy in primary, secondary and tertiary
education focusing on policy, strategy and implementation
management.
She also has experience across other sectors
including governance and rural livelihoods.
Hilary has worked in Bangladesh, India,
Nepal, Bhutan, Vietnam
and Laos for governments, multilateral and
bilateral development partners and NGOs. She has worked closely at policy
level with both government and development
partners, has excellent facilitation, team leadership, writing
and research skills. In addition to her consultancy
and research Hilary is an Honorary Lecturer

Paul
is a Director of all three Verulam Group
companies and has lead responsibility for
professional development within the group.
Paul undertook postgraduate social work
training and worked in the UK Probation
Service before becoming an NGO manager.
He has over 15 years management experience
at local, national and international levels.
Since 1992 Paul has worked as a consultant
with NGOs, Local, and National Governments
with an emphasis on policy development,
change management and sector wide working.
Paul has undertaken consultancy assignments
in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Cambodia,
Myanmar, Uganda, South Africa, Kenya, Jordan, Serbia,
Kosovo, Armenia, the Kyrgyz Republic and
the UK. Paul's particular skills are in
governance, institutional development, process
consultancy, facilitation, coaching
and mentoring. Paul has a Masters Degree in
management development and social responsibility
and post graduate diploma in clinical organisational psychology.

Director of Verulam Associates Bangladesh
Ltd Omar is an experienced governance
and human resource development consultant,
evaluator and facilitator. He founded
and was executive director of the
Centre for Development Services from
1984 to 2002 and has over 25 years
management exprience at local and
national levels. Omar has gained skill,
knowledge and wide range of experiences
working with local, National, international
NGOs and with Government. He has worked
for NORAD, Sida, DFIDB, DFIDI, UNFPA,
UNDP, SDC, Novib and other national
and international agencies in the
area of human rights, organisational
development, Reproductive health,
HIV/AIDS and ARH, etc. His skill include,
programme designing, participatory
monitoring, appraisal, organisational
development, governance network, advocacy,
OPR and participatory evaluation.
He has provided consultancy in Indonesia,
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia,
Papua New guinea and Bangladesh with
Verulam Associates.

Nipa
is a Director of Verulam Associates Bangladesh
Ltd and undertakes consultancy in
financial management and organisational
development. From 2003-2008 she was head of
Finance and Administration for the Verulam
Group but is currently based in Australia.
Nipa provides a link with the Asia Pacific
region for the Verulam Group and continues
to provide senior level financial advice at
director level.

Limited, Anuradha is a development
communication specialist with experience
in children's, women's, environment
and human rights issues. Anuradha
has designed and implemented public
campaigns on social issues, managed
media projects, scripted and produced
video documentaries, and researched
the impact of broadcast media. Her
experience with NGOs, government and
the corporate sector in India and
the UK complements her developments
expertise. Anuradha
lives in Kolkata where she is actively
involved in civil society and leads
the Verulam Group's links within West Bengal.

Singh is a managing consultant for

represents the Verulam Group in India.
She is a Human Resource professional
with a social sciences background who
has both consulting and corporate
experience. Her project experience
has focused on design, implementation
and monitoring of international donor-assisted
programs and projects. As an incumbent
of different positions in Human Resource
department of private companies, she
has expertise in various facets of
human resource management. Her key
areas of expertise include urban development
focusing on local government reform;

Raghav
is a senior associate consultant with the
Verulam Group and is our representative in
Nepal. He
has been a development consultant operating
in Nepal and South Asia for the last fifteen
years. He has long association with the
NGO movement of Nepal. His areas of expertise
are NGO management, design, appraisal, review
and evaluation with a focus on health, gender,
development partnerships and governance.
He has conducted training programmes on
participatory project management, knowledge
management and rights based approaches.
Raghav has worked with Verulam Associates
since 2000, and became our country representative
in Nepal in 2004.

Khan

Themrise khan has been a development
professional for the last 12 years in
Pakistan. A Masters Graduate in Development
Management from the London School of
Economics, She has Extensive Experience of
working with community-based social
development projects in rural and urban
Pakistan and has worked for several local
and international NGOs. She is currently
based in Islamabad, where for the last four
years has been occupied as a freelance
development consultant. Her clients include
the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank,
DFID, Canadian CIDA and several UN agencies
such as UNICEF, UNDP and UNIFEM, among
others. She specializes in program
evaluation, policy research and development
communications. Her Sectoral expertise lies
in governance, gender and cross-cutting
social sectors.

Motasin
Billah is Manager of Finance and
Administration in Verulam Associates
Bangladesh Ltd in the Dhaka office.
Billah is a partly qualified of
professional chartered accountants and
has completed his articleship
with ACNABIN Chartered Accountants
before joining the Verulam Group to develop
his management level competence and
experience in the area of accounts,
finance, administration and human
resources. He is responsible for all
finance and administrative
function-maintaining the books of
accounts, finance, taxation, corporate
affairs and administrative systems -
for Verulam Associates Bangladesh and
provides financial support to the
wider group. Billah completed his B.Sc (hons)
& M.Sc in physics from Rajshahi
University and has an MBA (Accounting and
Information Systems) from Dhaka University.

Indrajith (Jith) Wijesiriwardana

Indrajith
(Jith) Wijesiriwardana has been working
as a consultant in development finance since
1992, specializing in Microfinance and Small
and Medium enterprises (SME). He brings
in a wide range of experience to the fore.
His diverse skills and expertise cover financial
management, portfolio management, product
costing and development, microfinance in
post conflict regions, institutional capacity
building and training. His services have
been secured by a wide range of institutions
comprising of funding agencies, MFIs, NGOs,
International Consulting firms. His experience
spreads over four continents and nearly
20 countries. By profession Jith is a Chartered
Management Accountant and holds an MBA and
MA in Economics. Prior to the current practice
in consulting he was in corporate banking
in Sri Lanka. Since 2005 jith has been based
in the UK and is Verulam's Senior Associate
Consultant for the microfinance and financial
management sectors.

Chris
Vickery trained in the UK where he
worked in secondary and primary care
before working in Nepal for five years
as an adviser to rural mother and
child health services. He has extensive
consultancy experience, predominantly
in South and South East Asia with
a focus on health sector development,
strategic health planning, client
orientated health care; primary, neonatal
and maternal health services in both
urban and rural settings. He led the
Verulam team in West Bengal that successfully
supported the development of a sector
wide health strategy for the State
Government, and has also undertaken
consultancy assignments for the Verulam
Group in India, Pakistan, Cambodia,
Yemen and Bangladesh. Chris is now
a senior associate consultant for
the health sector.

Dr Bina D'Costa BSS MSS

Dr
Bina D'Costa is the Convenor of the Bachelor
Program in Security Analysis and a lecturer
with the Faculty of Asian Studies, the Australian
National University (ANU), Canberra. She
was previously the post-doctoral research
fellow at the University of Otago, Dunedin,
New Zealand and the John Vincent Fellow
in the Department of International Relations
of the Research School of Asian and Pacific
Studies at the ANU, here she earned her
PhD in 2003. Her research interests are
in postconflict peacebuilding, governance,
gender and conflict, gender and development
and the role of civil society and social
movements. She has also focused extensively
on both development and human security issues
in South Asia. Bina is working with on historical
injustices, truth and memory in relation
to the strategies of civil society in demanding
justice when there is a hostile government
in power. This action-oriented research
informs her book manuscript titled 'Burden'
of the State: Gendering War Crimes and National
Identity Politics in Postcolonial South
Asia'. Bina is Verulam's Senior Associate
Consultant for post conflict and peace building.
